Students will be introduced to the role of the phlebotomist and their vital membership within a clinical laboratory team. Experience is acquired in obtaining patients' blood specimens. Students must complete a minimum of 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks. Students must be comfortable practicing skills on each other. Students will be asked to sign a waiver. A student will need to purchase a voucher at the bookstore to gain access to the online study guide and the certification exam. Students must pass the National Healthcare Association examination to earn certification. Additional fee required.
